WHAT WE DO

The BDA Foundation is building and growing Africa’s botanical and agricultural supply chain, creating a world-class integrated business ecosystem that will shift Africa’s agriculture from peasant farming practices to professional, educated agriculturalists and formal SMEs mastering complex business transactions in the global botanicals market.

OUR MISSION

The Mission of BDA is to dramatically increase sustainable economic development by leveraging agricultural SME, operating in the formal economy, creating jobs, producing and transforming Africa’s emerging botanicals industry according to international standards for production, processing, quality control and exportation.

  • Growing Plants

  • Growing People

  • Growing Economies

Through this effort, BDA gives African countries access to the expanding global botanicals market, which is currently 93 billion USD annually. Even though Africa is teeming with a great abundance and extraordinary diversity of botanicals, the continent has minimal technical capacity and  limited infrastructure. The botanical industry is highly regulated and subject to the strict quality control demands. Without the support and guidance of BDA, Africa simply cannot capture the opportunities.

The BDA Foundation is a non-profit organization that trains, equips, certifies, and provides the necessary scientific and business support for bio-pharmers (BDA Ecopreneurs) to succeed in Africa’s emerging botanicals industry.
